Brief Background Information:

Starting from Commonwealth Ave West, Ulu Pandan Park Connector runs through the Ghim Moh estates, Dover MRT station and the Holland Grove estates. Crossing Clementi Road, it links back to cut across the Clementi and Sunset estates, before leading you towards Ayer-Rajah Expressway (AYE).

One of the points of intrest is the Remnants of the cast iron railway track bridge spanning above the Ulu Pandan PC and Sungei Ulu Pandan. The cast iron railway structure was constructed sometime in nineteen century as part of the transportation infrastructure by the British Colonial.
The other point of intrest is the van Kleef Center. The centre is a water research centre set up by the Singapore-Delft Water Alliance (SWDA) to carry out studies on urban water management and a platform for public engagement.

The Aquatic Science Centre was renamed after Singapore’s benefactor Karl Willem Benjamin Van Kleef. He was born in 1856 and died in 1930 in the city of Haarlem in Netherlands. He bequeathed his entire estate to Singapore’s first modern aquarium that opened in 1955. Mr Van Kleef left the sum of $160,000, which, in today’s dollars would be equivalent to $9 million.
hypothesis:
The river water will be alot dirtier than the pond water.

Variables that effect the results of the experiment:
The humidity would affect the temperature and the weather would also effect the results. like so the sun might affect the temperature results. The way we do the experiments also effects the results as if we do the experiment wrong, the results may not vary.

The Methodology:
We used the water testing kit together with the data-loggers and used it to find the pH values, water temperature, dissolved oxygen, and turbidity.

The results are stated below:

Water temperature
River: 30 degree cel
Pond: 30.3 degree cel

pH value
River: 7
Pond: 8.5

Dissolved oxygen
River: 4mg
Pond: 4mg

Turbidity
 River: 100 NTU
 Pond: 40 NTU

Our discussion:
We discussed that in the end the pond water is more polluted due to the higher pH value, lower turbidity and higher temperature. We also found out that this difference in results between the river and the pond is due to our human activities. We have been throwing litter whenever we walk past the pond as we are too lazy to walk to the nearest dustbin and throw it away or to hold it in our hands and throw it away when we see one.

Our conclusion:
We suggest that all Singaporeans to keep our city clean. We should follow what the late Lee Kuan Yew did and help keep Singapore clean and it all starts with us, the culprits. As I mentioned earlier, we should not be lazy and not throw litter anywhere wherever we want to. Singapore has a law on no littering and has a fine behind it. I think what they did was good ans People who make Singapore unclean should be punished and not be pitied. All of us here did admit that we did once littered but after seeing what it can do to the society, we turned over a new leaf and decided not to ever litter ever again.
